HUM 3990 On Being Human In Middle Earth: Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings
Dr. Darrell Dooyema enjoys helping students think about the ultimate questions of life through great literature and key works of Philosophy. In addition to his work in the Humanities Department at UCCS, he is an Affiliate Professor of Philosophy at CCU. He is a frequent speaker both in the USA and abroad on topics relating to Philosophy, Worldview, and Religion.
He and his wife, Annette, are founding partners of the Elvheim project in Norway, where students can come to explore tough philosophical and life questions, experience intentional community, and gain cross-cultural skills. He has worked with international students for many years and is grateful for the global perspective provided by these bright lights from many nations. While he loves to surf, ski, travel, and climb mountains, his greatest joy (and most exciting challenge) is his wife and three amazing children!
